Really excited for the wedding!

Feb 17, 2009 Author: Megan | Filed under: Invitations, Transportation, Wedding, Weight/Health

Something happened this weekend. I realized it was two and a half months away, met with the reception location and wedding planner and got REALLY excited for the wedding.

Like over the top Megan-like excitement. You can’t bottle that stuff.

Check, check, checking stuff off my list.

Today I put a ton (~75) invitations in our mailbox at the end of the street. I even took pictures while people drove by and wondered why I was taking pictures of my mailbox.

I’d been putting off and putting off my first dress fitting. Then somehow I looked at a picture of me in the dress when I picked it up and my BDD flew out the window – I actually looked good. Actually, I think this is what got me really excited about the wedding – knowing I wouldn’t look like a fatty in the dress.

schoolbusJimbo and I had been undecided about the limo. We have a big bridal party (12) and in order to include everyone, it would have had to be one big mofo limo. And we hate those big mofo (“0 highway, 1 city“) limos. So we sat on it.

Until, just the other day while stalking WeddingBee.com, I discovered the ultimate in wedding transportation – the school bus!

Even better? My aunt drives school bus and got us a great deal and CHECK, we’ve got transportation!

    Where was I? I can’t remember. So here’s what’s been going on…

My wonderful Jimbo recently gifted me personal training sessions and my first was on Monday. I can’t tell you how nervous I was. I only had one prerequisite for a personal trainer – they have to be nice. She is, thank goodness.

She’s not easy, though. Not that I’m looking for easy. I don’t mind kicking my ass. My real problem is motivation. And if Jimbo’s plunking down his hard-earned cash and I have an appointment, that’s certainly motivation enough for me. More than say, fitting into my wedding dress.

Yesterday and today my arms were sore, but a good sore to let me know I’m doing good. I’m just back from my 2nd session and we did legs. I found out that my quads are weak, but my thighs and calves can hold their own. And I have very good form while doing crunches. I have to tell you, the hour goes by so quickly.

I can feel good about going to Weight Watcher’s tonight, now. I don’t give a rat’s arse if I gain. I know I’m kicking ash.

In other news, I found out that my former dog (he lived with my ex-boyfriend for the pas six years) passed away last night. So sad. Here’s a picture of him and I from back in the day. He is the reason that I love dogs.
