13 positive things about my unemployment
Mar 18, 2009

Monday didn’t start off well. I had a meeting with my boss at 8:30 where I learned that my contract with my current company will end at the end of March. It’s not like it’s a total surprise. It was a contract job. They end.
And just because I’m a glass is half-full kinda gal, I decided to list… 13 positive things that will result from my unemployment.
- More time to plan the wedding and have fun with wedding crafts.
- Exercise time is no longer a commodity; maybe I can drop a few pounds before the wedding.
- No more alarm clock
- Non-existent commute will save gas money
- Crafts, crafts and more crafts!
- Quality time with the chickens
- I can finally read some of the books that are stacking up on my nightstand
- Jimbo will get more home-cooked meals
- Visits with stay-at-home-mom friends
- Catching up on my DVR
- Indulge my inner entrepreneur with freelance jobs and side projects (anyone need a new blog design or hand-made invitations?)
- Rediscover my authentic self
- Time to look for my dream job

It sounds like the life of luxury….at least you’re being productive with your time. Have fun planning the wedding! Happy TT:)
that’s my sunny side up girl!
Oh man, the no more alarm clock sounds heavenly as do the wedding plans. Happy TT!
you almost make it sound desirable
Well You make it seem like a good thing! If it happens to me that I hope I can view things like you do!
Love your PMA–Positive Mental Attitude
All is well and will be well. Relax and have some coffee in a sunny mug and a scrumptious muffin on one of those gorgeous plates:)
Excellent take on what can sometimes be a stressful thing. Have fun!
That is a great list! More time is something I think everyone can use & kudos to you for looking at it that way!
Yeah, I find to be unemployed to be a real luxury – timewise. Moneywise, not so much, unfortunately. But I guess it’s all a question of priorities. And it’s always a good idea to look at things in a positive light.
Sorry to hear about the end of the job, but I think you’ve found 13 great ways to see the silver lining. I hope the next two months finds a thinner, well-read, ready to married, happier, craftier, spent-quality-time-with-the-chickens gal
Great list. It’s good to stay positive and you seem to have a lot of positives going on in your life right now. Keep it up and you’ll do just fine.
Wish I had time to catch up on myh DVR. Glad you’re enjoying your leisure time and hope you’re unemployment doesn’t last too long.
Bummer about the job but all your positives are on point!
At least your postive about stuff though. Not many people are after losing the job. Great attitude
That’s turning a negative into 13 big positives! Great way to keep your energy flowing up so when the job does come you’re ready for it!
Thanks for stopping by the PopArtDiva Retro Boomer Blog today for the TT!!
Those are all excellent reasons to rejoice! I am enjoying doing most of those things myself–only the wedding isn’t mine, but my son’s, and I am enjoying crafts, crafts, crafts, as well as gardening!
