You can find the Friday Fill-Ins here!

  1. Give me chocolate and I’ll eat it.
  2. Whenever wherever
    We’re meant to be together
I’ll be there and you’ll be near
And that’s the deal my dear
  3. I wish I was a fish.
  4. An OMG so frigging decadent and good chocolate covered donut was the last thing I ate that was utterly delicious.
  5. To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go”.
  6. Other than this one, Intricate Art is the last blog I commented on.
  7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting my nails done with mom and possibly movies with Janet, tomorrow my plans include cake tasting goodness and Sunday, I want to clean and craft!

Thirteen of my favorite places

Join the Thursday 13 here

  1. Day 39Bed.
Always warm, soft and comforting my bed is my very most favorite place to be. There’s nothing like settling down at night, reading a book, playing sudoku, catching up with Jimbo or petting the kitties in bed.
  2. Barnes & Noble.
When I don’t know what to do with myself or I need some immediate comfort I go to B&N. I browse the stacks and get lost in the possiblities. I love the fact that people are *mostly* quiet and all in our own heads. Add Starbucks and flipping through People free to charge and you can’t go wrong!
  3. TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods.
They’re all in the same category – discounted clothes, accessories, home goods and everything I could ever want. I grab a carriage where I place every item that I want. After a few hours of browsing, I go through my cart and let go of the items I don’t need, and sometimes that’s all of them. There’s something about pushing things around in the cart that makes me feel like they’re mind for just a little while and sometimes that’s all I need.
  4. This is the lifeGloria Ferrer Vineyard in Sonoma Valley.
Jimbo and I sat on the front porch before noon on my 30th birthday sipping champagne, looking out onto the vast grapvines for miles. A very special moment.
  5. Target.
Very similar to #3, but a little bit different. I don’t usually do the cart thing, but I will browse for ages, looking at all the possibilties, checking out my favorite sections – especially the one spot and the stationery.
  6. Godiva Chocolatier.
Some of my best days ever included browsing the mall and stopping into Godiva for a single piece of chocolate. A simple, decadent treat that’s just enough to make me happy.
  7. On top of old smooookeyOn top of a mountain.
I’m not picky, any mountain will do, preferably with a view and a peanut buter and fluff sammich. I haven’t climbed a mountain in quite a while but there’s an amazing feeling I get when I get to the top. Accomplishment, peace. Quiet!
  8. Jan’s car.
I’m in there so often and whenever I’m there (MOST times I’m there) I’m having a grand old time. Almost like home.
  9. Us on the boulevardThe boulevard.
This is one of the places that Jimbo and I had our first date. It’s near our house, so we stop by and walk every now and then. My favorite spot is the bench we sat on our first date, followed by the make-do bench where Jimbo popped the question.
  10. Fancy places.
Restaurants, spas… you name it, if it’s first class it’s like home to me. Mostly it’s the quiet grandeur of places like these, or the fact that everyone’s dressed up, on their best behavior and the service is most often impeccable.
  11. IMG_2710The bath.
Due to our teeny-tiny on-demand water heater, baths are out of the question in our house. It still remains one of my very favorite places to be. Nice warm water, covered in pretty-smelling bubbles without a care in the world.
  12. Boston.
A great place to go on a sunny day. So many places to walk, so many things to do. A walk down Newbury Street through the gardens and the common to Fanueil Hall and the North End. It’s easy to waste a day in the city.
  13. Our engagement photoJimbo’s arms.
Yeah yeah, I’m a cheeseball, but you totally expected it, didn’t you? It’s the most comfortable place in the world. Warm, safe and loved.

Really excited for the wedding!

Feb 17, 2009 Author: Megan | Filed under: Invitations, Transportation, Wedding, Weight/Health

Something happened this weekend. I realized it was two and a half months away, met with the reception location and wedding planner and got REALLY excited for the wedding.

Like over the top Megan-like excitement. You can’t bottle that stuff.

Check, check, checking stuff off my list.

Today I put a ton (~75) invitations in our mailbox at the end of the street. I even took pictures while people drove by and wondered why I was taking pictures of my mailbox.

I’d been putting off and putting off my first dress fitting. Then somehow I looked at a picture of me in the dress when I picked it up and my BDD flew out the window – I actually looked good. Actually, I think this is what got me really excited about the wedding – knowing I wouldn’t look like a fatty in the dress.

schoolbusJimbo and I had been undecided about the limo. We have a big bridal party (12) and in order to include everyone, it would have had to be one big mofo limo. And we hate those big mofo (“0 highway, 1 city“) limos. So we sat on it.

Until, just the other day while stalking WeddingBee.com, I discovered the ultimate in wedding transportation – the school bus!

Even better? My aunt drives school bus and got us a great deal and CHECK, we’ve got transportation!
